The Education assessments

We believe that it is important for young people to have a good foundation in life; we encourage their development and good practice.  Young people who enter our programme will have precise and realistic educational goals.  We believe firmly by working in partnership with social services we can raise the educational achievements of young people – by following mainstream, vocational and alternative programmes.

We have within our staff group tutors who can undertake this type of assessment and recommend the types of services that need to be sought for the young people in our accommodation.

For those young people who have already been assessed as having education and behavioural difficulties we can provide one to one tuition.

The purpose of this tuition is to supplement the course(s) being taken by the young people at school / college.  However, an effective study programme will need to have a two-fold approach.

To help the student to get through the course and to be able to understand and its material.  To gain the relevant qualification, additionally.

To provide other related support in areas, which are impeding the student in their study, to get through the course(s) successfully: e.g. literacy, grammar, spelling, and punctuation study skills.

The first step has to be through assessment, as this is the key to well programmed individual study programmes.
